Sierra edges Pueblo East for 4A Boys Basketball Title

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Jahmall Fountain scored 20 points, including eight in overtime, to lead Sierra to its second straight Colorado Class 4A state championship with a 61-56 victory over Pueblo East.

With the game tied 48-48 at the end of regulation, Fountain hit a free throw to give the top-seeded Stallions (26-2) the lead for good. Fountain also converted a 3-pointer and four additional free throws down the stretch.

Wesley Gordan scored 11 points, while Mark Hatcher and Chris Fielder added 10 apiece for Sierra, the Colorado Springs Metro League champion, which led 28-21 at halftime.

Pueblo East (25-1), the No. 1 seed from the South Central League, was led by Jordan Gregory's 19 points. Mitch Secora scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Eagles.
