WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento couldn't score the tying run from third base with no outs in the ninth inning in a 1-0 loss to Colorado Springs on Monday night.

After Chris Carter reached first base on a wild pitch third strike, Michael Taylor advanced pinch-runner Corey Brown to third on a single to right field. Steve Tolleson then grounded out to the pitcher, Anthony Recker popped out in foul territory and Michael Affronti struck out swinging to end the game.

Sacramento starter Kyle Middleton (1-4) gave up one unearned run over 7.0 innings, allowing only three hits.

Chris Iannetta drove in the game's only run on an RBI single in the fourth inning.

The Sky Sox return to Security Service Field Tuesday night to host Albuquerque and begin an eight-game home-stand.
