OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals had to rally for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to "bump" off Colorado Springs 3-2, Thursday night to the delight of 6,923 fans.
With two outs in the ninth and the bases full, Scott Thorman delivered a game-winning RBI single off tough lefty Matt Reynolds, as the Royals swept the four-game series and won their fifth in a row. Juan Rincon (2-2) suffered his fourth blown save of the season as well as the loss. Rincon walked Jai Miller with one out in the ninth and uncorked a wild pitch, allowing Miller to take second. Marc Maddox singled through the right side to tie the game at 2-2.
Omaha (24-21) improved to 6-2 on the 12-game homestand. Colorado Springs (20-25) dropped their eighth straight - all coming on the Sox' road trip to Iowa and Omaha - and the Sox finish with a 21-47 mark at Rosenblatt.
The Sky Sox begin an 8-game home stand Friday night against Portland at Security Service Field.
