Sponsors of Colorado anti-tax measures fight court order

The sponsors of three tax-cutting proposals have appealed a judge's order that they must disclose who contributed money and help to get the measures on the November ballot.
The appeal filed last week with the Colorado Court of Appeals accuses the administrative law judge who oversaw the case and the people pursuing the complaint of "flagrant misconduct." Denver Administrative Law Judge Robert Spencer ruled in June that the measures' sponsors should have reported expenditures and contributions. He fined each one $2,000.
Spencer also said Colorado Springs anti-tax activist Douglas Bruce was working with the three. Bruce has denied involvement and faces a contempt-of-court citation for not answering a subpoena to testify in the case.
Opponents of the tax measures say they could devastate state and local governments.
