COLORADO SPRINGS - The worst of the storm brought out the best in a small group of strangers Wednesday night. They rallied together to help push free more than 30 vehicles that had gotten stuck spinning their wheels in the ice and snow at of Woodmen Rd. and Union Blvd.
It was no small task. These "Union Warriors" spent between three and four hours helping to free all of the stuck cars and trucks.
"We started seeing all these cars build up an we just decided to help out," explained Jerry Harrison.
"I have 4 wheel drive, I'm good to go," added Orren Berose. "I mean, everybody else here probably feels the same way, we need to get people moving, get them home."
Jacob Champlin's wife was one of the stranded drivers. He grabbed a few of his friends and headed over to help.
"You see a sigh of relief on their faces, for sure, when you help them out," Champlin said.
Laura Parker joked, "it's bad when they try to stop and say thank you because then you have to get them going again."
