Samaritans Purse is hoping to touch 8.5 million kids worldwide with a shoe box filled with school supplies, toys, and hygiene items during their 18th annual Operation Christmas Child fundraiser.

There are around two dozen locations across Pueblo and Colorado Springs that are collection sites for the boxes. Volunteers are busy packing the nicely decorated shoe boxes into crate boxes to be processed in Denver. Shoe boxes will be collected until Monday, November 21st.

As of now, in Southern Colorado, a spokesperson for the organization says they have collected almost 11,000 boxes and they hope to reach 30,000 by Monday.
