DENVER (AP) - Colorado lawmakers and the recycling industry are talking about how recycling old computers, televisions and other electronics can create jobs.

A bill pending that is now in the state Senate would ban certain electronics from going to a landfill. The Senate has given preliminary approval to the measure, and it faces one final vote before going to the House.

The legislation would direct state agencies to use a certified recycler for electronic devices by July 1, 2013.
Proponents of the bill say it can create thousands of recycling jobs. Sponsors of the legislation and representatives of the recycling industry will be at the Capitol Wednesday to talk about the bill.
