An alternative energy bill was signed into law Tuesday with an aim of producing enough electricity at Colorado state parks to power them.
Governor Bill Ritter signed the legislation at Lake Pueblo State Park. House Bill 1349 creates a new program designed to offset the amount of electricity used at state parks by using solar power or other renewable methods.
State Representative Sal Pace (D-Pueblo) said, "The goal of this bill is to create new jobs in and around our state parks, hopefully starting right here in Pueblo."
