The city of Fowler has been chosen for a pilot program called the "Sustainable Main Streets Initiative." The Department of Local Affairs and the Office of Economic Development will partner with Fowler to help solve problems and make improvements.
"When somebody comes to this town they're going to remember it because it's going to be attractive, it's going to have ambiance as they say," said Dennis Cuchiara, owner of A Purple Cow, a dollar store on Main St.
Fowler city leaders were in Denver today meeting with the Governor's staff on ways the state can help in this project.
The communities of Five Points, Monte Vista and Rifle were also selected to take part in this pilot program.
