TODAY: Your plans may include shopping or heading back to work...but either way they will include you needing a jacket! High temps only expected to be at or right around the freezing mark for many locations! Skies will be partly sunny with mostly light winds and dry skies. Trinidad and Walsenburg will have a bit of a down slope breeze in the afternoon which will help bump temps up to around 40 degrees or better. Yet another Pacific storm will start bringing snow to the mountains of western Colorado...especially late in the day. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES begin tomorrow for much of the western half of the state on the other side of the Continental Divide. By Friday morning some of the ski resorts will have another 6-12" of new powder! Check the road reports before traveling over any mountain passes!
THURSDAY: Snow continues in the high country, while here we'll see partly sunny skies and chilly temps again. Highs only right around 32 or so for the Springs and Pueblo. Later in the afternoon that storm from the Pacific could bring a few snow showers across Teller County and the mountains nearby. Chances are about 30%. We'll see about a 20% for some light snow in northern El Paso County and foothills areas west of I-25. There is even a slight chance for a shower or two at the lower elevations as well, including Colorado Springs, but chances are only at about 10-20%.
FRIDAY: Behind storm system snow will end in the mountains Friday morning, while we will be in for a very brisk last Friday of 2012! Temps on Friday will be in the upper 20's in the Springs and lower 30's in Pueblo with partly cloudy skies.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: More sunshine and not quite as cold for the weekend. Upper 30's and lower 40's for temps with plenty of sun on Saturday...mostly sunny to partly cloudy on Sunday.
MONDAY: Weather for the last day of the year will be dry and cool for the lower elevations. Temps again in the upper 30's and lower 40's expected. For New Year's Eve festivities it will be cold with temps teens and lower 20's around the stroke of midnight with dry conditions. Enjoy!
JANUARY 1st: We'll say hello to 2013 with dry skies again with temps just a touch below normal. 41 for Colorado Springs and 43 for Pueblo. Skies should be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.
