The chance for rain increases across Southern Colorado as monsoonal moisture returns to Colorado this weekend.
Showers and storms will be scattered in nature this weekend with most of the activity starting up over the high country in the afternoon then eventually moving east over the Front Range and Southeastern Plains during the afternoon and evening hours. Heavy rain and frequent lightning are possible with any storm that develops. Gusty winds and small hail are also a possibility. The area burn scars need to be on alert for the possibility of heavy rain at times both Saturday and Sunday.
A drier pattern sets itself up for the much of the workweek next week as the monsoonal moisture gets pushed out of the state.
In regards to temperatures, expect highs to be either below or right near average for this time of year through the weekend and into the start of the new workweek.
