The amount of water in the air is increasing, and storms from the west coast are moving in. As a result, thunderstorms on the eastern Plains may become severe through late tonight, with a short break behind the storms.
That will leave Friday breezy and cooler, though highs will still be warmer than average.
For your weekend, expect gusty winds, cooler temperatures, showers and snowflakes over the higher elevations.
Sunshine will increase on Monday, and the first 4 days of the work week look warmer.
