Thunderstorms intensified on Wednesday afternoon, with severe storms on the southeastern Plains and a TORNADO WATCH until 9 PM MDT for Baca, Bent, Las Animas, Otero and Prowers counties. Severe Thunderstorms (the ones with damaging winds and hail) will be possible for all of the News 5 viewing area until late evening.
Overnight a cold front will move from west to east across the state, bringing gusty winds that will continue on Thursday.
Friday will be breezy and mild, but another cold front will move in on Saturday, dropping the highs below average and increasing the chance for showers (and snow at higher elevations).
Sunday will be cloudy, cool, and most of us will see showers, with more sunshine filtering in on Monday (and a 20% chance for more showers).
Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny early and partly cloudy afternoons and evenings.
