The City of Colorado Springs has begun mailing collection notices to property owners for delinquent Stormwater Enterprise fees, but the owners of as many as 9,000 properties may be learning about it for the first time. That's because A1 Collections, the company the city hired to collect the delinquent fees, was instructed to only collect for amounts greater than $25.
That changed last month when council voted to collect all of the outstanding fees. A review of the 18,000 properties listed as delinquent by the city shows more than half are for amounts less than $25. Click here (see pages 186-292) to check if your property is on the list.
