MOSCOW (AP) - There's been no claim of responsibility for today's deadly explosion at a Moscow airport terminal, which left 35 people dead. Investigators say it was apparently carried out by a suicide bomber.
In the past, Chechen militants have taken responsibility for terror attacks in Moscow, including a double suicide bombing on a subway last year that killed 40 people. The international arrivals terminal at Domodedovo Airport was splattered with blood and body parts after the explosion, which sprayed the hall with shrapnel, screws and ball bearings.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is calling the incident a terror attack and has ordered authorities to tighten security at Moscow's two other commercial airports and other transportation facilities.
Russia has fought two devastating wars with separatists in Chechnya. While large-scale battle there ended years ago, Islamic militants have continued to carry out suicide bombings and other attacks.
