Summit County issues corrected ballots

FRISCO, Colo. (AP) - The Summit County Clerk and Recorder's Office says it complied with the law even though it missed Friday's state-mandated deadline to send out mail ballots.

Last week, Summit County Clerk Kathleen Neel discovered more than 7,000 mail-in ballots for November's election were sent to voters in the wrong districts. In one case, voters in Breckenridge got ballots with questions meant for Dillon voters

Neel tells the Summit Daily corrected ballots went out within one business day of Friday's deadline. She cited a state statute that permits voters to request a mail-in ballot up to seven days before an election.
