Afternoon storms led to some street closures and street flooding throughout Pueblo West. Late Sunday evening, Purcell remained closed at Challenger because there is too much water over the roadway. The Pueblo West Fire Department has asked everyone to avoid the area because they will be turned around and not allowed to drive through. There are no other closures, but drivers are being asked to be especially cautious as there is standing water on many roadways.
Early Sunday afternoon one driver had to be rescued by a helpful neighbor after driving into several inches of rushing water on Platteville and becoming trapped. He was not injured and the good samaritan helped to tow his vehicle out of the water.
