Surveillance image shows pickup suspected in road rage hit-and-run

Colorado Springs police have released a surveillance image of a pickup truck believed to have been used in a hit-and-run road rage incident that left a man in critical condition.

The image shows a blue or gray pickup, possibly a 2010-2012 Toyota Tundra, in the 5500 block of North Academy Boulevard around the time on Saturday, March 1, when it's believed the pickup ran into another driver who had gotten out of his vehicle during a confrontation stemming from a road rage incident.  It's believed the pickup has out-of-state licence plates and may have body damage to its front end and/or passenger side.

Police say the incident was no accident and it is being investigated as an attempted murder.  The 30-year-old victim sustained severe injuries.  The pickup's driver is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s with long, dark hair.

Anyone who recognizes the pickup or has any information about the road rage incident along North Academy Boulevard near Montebello Drive West around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, is asked to call Colorado Springs police at (719) 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at (719) 634-STOP.

A $10,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
