Police may be closing the books on a gruesome murder left unsolved since April, when a man was found shot to death in a blood-soaked S-U-V. Investigators found no motive and no suspects until now.
Carlos Ford was charged with first-degree murder on Thursday for the killing of 28-year-old Daniel Garcia. His body was found April 23rd at the Westwind Apartments in Colorado Springs.
Members of the victim's family say finding the alleged killer was an answer to their prayers; not knowing consumed them with grief. "It's not gonna bring my grandson back, but I'm glad that justice was served," Tony Gallegos told News 5. "We got healed today. My wife got up and started praying this morning, and after she got done praying she got the call and said 'We got him'."
Ford was already behind bars for a different murder when he got word of the new charges; he was arrested in June, accused of killing a man outside the Sin City Disciples motorcycle clubhouse.
Police told Garcia's family there may be more arrests coming in the murder of their grandson.
