Officer involved shooting: suspect dead

A man shot by a Walsenburg Police Officer late last night has died. The Huerfano County Coroner is not releasing the mans name until next of kin have been notified.

According to a statement released Monday morning, two officers responded to a call on Stacy Drive around 9:30 Sunday night.

One officer helped young children who were crawling out a front window, the other officer went to the back of the house and observed a domestic altercation. That officer fired his weapon resulting in one injury to a man. He later died at a hospital in Pueblo County.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation was called in to process the scene.
