AURORA, CO - A Medina Alert out of Aurora has been cancelled after police find the suspect believed to be involved in a deadly hit and run.
The alert was issued Sunday morning for an SUV wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run.
According to the Aurora Police Department, it happened at 2:45 a.m. near East Colfax Avenue and Quentin Street. The suspect turned himself into police later in the day.
Witnesses tell police the victim was lying in the road when a white suburban or Tahoe hit him. Witnesses said the SUV returned, but then quickly left the scene again. Police said the vehicle was driven by an unknown person.
Police are giving a briefing on the incident this afternoon. We hope to have more information on News 5 at 5:30.
