Colorado Springs police are investigating a case of identity theft.
Police say it happened December 23. The victim noticed his car window had been broken into after service at the Beth El Mennonite Church on Ranch Drive.
When he looked inside, he noticed his garage door opener and vehicle registration had been stolen. Police say when they arrived at the victim's home, his 2004 blue Honda Element with Colorado license plate 430RXE was gone. Several items of value including a handmade violin were also stolen from the home.
Several credit cards belonging to the victim were stolen and immediately used at Home Depot, Best Buy and DSW Shoe stores by the suspects. Police have provided surveillance photos to help in this investigation.
