The percentage of college students who say they've been sick with flu-like symptoms was up 20% last week, compared with the week before.
Washington State University alone reports more than 2,500 students have fallen ill with the flu.
The new report -- from the American College Health Association -- shows 83% of the colleges in its network are dealing with new flu cases.
The highest rates are found in the northwest.
The flu is still making the rounds in the southeast, but the report showed it decreased a bit in that area last week.
One student at Cornell University died from N1N1 complications. No other campus deaths have been reported.
