Contaminated alfalfa sprouts may have made 89 people sick across the country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that fifteen states and the Washington D.C. area may have been affected by a salmonella outbreak.

Their investigation shows a possible link to alfalfa sprouts. The Illinois Department of Public Health says that a majority of those that have gotten sick reported eating sprouts at Jimmy John's gourmet sandwiches.

So far, no deaths from the outbreak have been reported. The CDC, along with the FDA and state health departments are continuing to investigate the outbreak.
