Tax revenues up in Colorado

DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Municipal League says sales tax revenue increased an average of 6.5 percent across the state during the first four months of this year compared to the same time span last year.
The organization says in a survey released Wednesday that 62 percent of cities and towns rated their economies as improving. Another 30 percent of municipalities say their economies remain flat and 8 percent say it's getting worse. The survey showed that most of the places seeing flat or declining tax revenue are in the mountains.
The Municipal League says 81 percent of municipalities are seeing increased sales tax revenue so far this year. Last year, a third of municipalities reported sales tax revenue increases.
