Tebow pitches memberships for new fitness center

COLORADO SPRINGS - Why yes, that is Tim Tebow that you see in those commercials for a new fitness center. The company D-1 Sports Training just opened their latest facility on Monday inside the old Mr. Biggs building on Mark Dabling Boulevard.

Tebow is a part owner of the Tennessee based sports fitness company. He actually trained at one of their gyms in Chattanooga while preparing for the NFL Combine and is currently invested as a co-owner of three gyms in Florida.

The style of training is geared toward professional athletes. However, D1 Director of Sales Brendan Smith says membership is open to anyone looking to improve themselves.

"That's really what's unique about us; we're the one place that you can go where you've got a professional athlete training on this side, you've got a 7 year old training over here on this turf and then on the other side you've got the 7-year-old's mother doing an adult boot camp."

Sports medicine is another big part of the business model. Front Range Orthopedics owns a stake in the Colorado Springs facility and has physical therapists on site to help professional and amateur athletes recover from injury.
