Teen arrested after Pueblo West woman shot through front door

PUEBLO WEST, CO- A Pueblo teenager is under arrest, facing an attempted murder charge.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office says the 17-year-old is accused of firing shots through the front door of the home of 34-year-old Cheryl Gonzales along Morning Glory Drive, near Spaulding and McCulloch, in Pueblo West early Sunday morning.

Gonzales was hit by the gunfire. She remains in critical condition.

Investigators say the teen was trying to steal drugs.

Several weapons have been seized. Four other arrests have been made in the case, but are not directly related to the shooting.
