Teen drivers can double insurance premiums

A new study has found car insurance premiums can double with a teenage driver.

Married couples pay an average of 84% more for car insurance when they add a teen driver to their policy.

That's according to a new national survey by

Male teens cause higher increases than females, and the increase is highest for 16-year-olds.

The survey found ten states where adding a teen driver caused the average premium to double.

Colorado was not one of them.
