An 18-year-old man was shot and killed in a Pueblo garage early Friday morning. Pueblo Police have identified the victim as Carlos Romero. Officers say it appears Romero was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. Thursday at a garage behind a house on Portland and E. 5th St. Police say six teenage boys were having a party inside, when two men knocked on the garage door and fired six to eight shots. Police say Romero was shot and died on scene.

"Our victim has no criminal history. Not a gang member. Really no involvement with law enforcement at all, so at this point we're not sure what the motive is," said Sgt. Eric Bravo, Pueblo Police Department. Sgt. Bravo says although Romero was not a gang member, he says other people at the party were members of a gang.

"You know what did that child do to deserve this. Nothing, and then to die at someone's stupidity. It just makes me angry," said Donna Sierra, a neighbor.

Police say the owners of the house, weren't home when the shooting happened.

Police are searching for suspects.
