Woodland Park, CO - Teller County coroner Al Born confirmed that the person shot Tuesday afternoon by Woodland Park police died. Born said the suspect has not been positively identified yet, due to multiple names or aliases. He hopes the suspect will be identified later this afternoon after fingerprinting identification test comes through.

The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday when police were trying to make an arrest along eastbound U.S. Highway 24 in front of the Wal-Mart on the east side of Woodland Park. The 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigations joined the police Tuesday afternoon to complete the investigation, which had the eastbound lanes of Highway 24 closed well into the evening. The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
