A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 10am-8pm today for areas along and west of I-25. Fire danger remains high across all of Southern Colorado due to dry fuels on the ground, a dry atmosphere, and a breezy southwest wind gusting up to 35 mph at times.
It'll be hot and dry once again across the region today with mostly sunny skies mixing in with areas of smoke from the west. Highs will top out around 10 degrees above average for this time of year.
A front will move through the region early Sunday morning which will add a little more moisture to our very dry atmosphere and cool temperatures by a few degrees for the afternoon.
There's good news and bad news for the workweek ahead. The bad news: it'll remain hot and dry. The good news: winds should calm down significanly which will help with firefighting efforts.
