Chronic pain is an often under-recognized complication of stroke.
Researchers in Ireland analyzed data collected from 15,000 adults who had suffered a stroke and found one in ten had chronic pain.
Their pain stemmed from stiff muscles or shoulder pain as a result of the stroke.
For some, their brain injury made touch and temperature come across as pain.
