Peterson AFB Airman among three killed in Afghanistan

Three airmen, including one stationed at Peterson Air Force Base, have died in Afghanistan, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

Department officials say all three were killed after their vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device on January 5th in Shir Gazhi, in the Helmand province.  They were a part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Airman 1st Class Matthew R. Seidler, 24 - originally from Westminster, MD - was stationed in Colorado Springs. He was assigned to the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron.

Senior Airman Bryan R. Bell, 23, from Erie, PA and Tech Sgt. Matthew S. Schwartz, 34, of Traverse City, MI also died in the explosion.
