Three people are in custody on felony charges following a successful sting by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office on a suspected drug and weapons operation in Pueblo West.
In a press release, the Sheriff's Office says the raid happened around 8:00 Friday night at a home in the 1000 block of Linda Avenue, which Narcotics Unit investigators say they had been casing for more than six months.
After securing a search warrant, investigators entered the home and found Methamphetamine, digital scales, cash, boxes of live ammunition, semi-automatic handguns, shotguns, knives, and machetes. Investigators say every gun was loaded with live rounds of ammunition.
"This was a tough entry, every gun was loaded and ready to fire, some within arm's-reach of the suspects," Sheriff Kirk Taylor said via a press release.
Steven Wilson, 51, Shane Smith, 39, and Kimberlie Verigan, 35, were arrested and booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center. Investigators say Wilson had multiple arrest warrants from Pueblo and El Paso Counties. Smith was on probation at the time of his arrest. Verigan had two escape warrants from the Department of Corrections. All face numerous new felony charges.
