A cold front overnight brought 2-3 inches snow to central and northern Colorado Springs. The south side of town and southward to Pueblo saw little, if any, accumulation. The snow will move out by 7 AM aside from a few leftover snowflakes in southern areas like Trinidad or Kim. A blast of cold air will bring temperatures down into the teens and 20's early in the day, but the clouds will thin allowing the sun to break out and work with the gusty wind to warm us into the upper 30's and 40's.
The wind will blow 20-40 mph with gusts of 50-60 mph possible. That combined with lowering humidity will increase the fire risk. Red Flag Warnings have been posted for Huerfano, Las Animas, and Baca counties east of the mountains from 11 AM to 6 PM Thursday.
