Tigers blow third period lead and lose in OT

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Matt Frattin's goal early in overtime lifted North Dakota past Colorado College 3-2 on Friday and into fifth place in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The Fighting Sioux (17-11-5, 12-10-3) moved two points ahead of the Tigers (17-13-3, 11-11-3) with another game Saturday. The top five teams host a first-round playoff series.

North Dakota's Brad Malone tied it with 1:42 left in the third period and Frattin got the game-winner at 2:09 of the extra period. Malone assisted on Frattin's game-winner.

Nate Prosser scored both goals for Colorado College.

North Dakota's Danny Kristo and Prosser traded goals in the first two periods, sending the game to the third tied 1-1.

Prosser's second goal beat North Dakota goalie Brad Eidsness. Eidsness made 26 saves.

Joe Howe had 39 saves, including 17 in the second period.
