GRAND FORKS, ND - The drought is over. The Colorado College Tigers hockey team defeated the University of North Dakota 4-3 Friday night snapping a four game losing streak. Ironically it was an overtime loss to the same UND team on December 1 that started the Tigers longest winless streak in more than a decade.

Junior forward Jeff Collett netted the game winner with 7:04 remaining in the third period. Jordan DiGiando, Archie Skalbeck and William Rapuzzi also scored for Colorado College, which improves to 9-12-2 overall and 6-8-1 in the WCHA.

The tigers out shot North Dakota 35-31 and goalie Josh Howe picked up 28 saves in the win. Game two of the series will begin at 6:00 p.m. Saturday and will be carried live on the CW Channel 57, Comcast Channel 7 and Direct TV 57.
