Today last day to register to vote in city election

Today is the last day to register to vote for the April 2 Colorado Springs municipal election.

The election will occur by mail ballots, but only registered active voters who live in the city limits will receive the ballots.

Voters can register through the Colorado Secretary of State's website or fill out a voter registration form at the websites of the Colorado Springs City Clerk and El Paso County Clerk and Recorder.

Voters who are inactive, or have moved and have not updated their new address with their voter registration records may not initially receive a ballot. Election material will not be held by the post office or forwarded to new addresses and will be returned to the city clerk's office. Voters who are unsure of their voting status can call the city clerk's office at 385-5901 or the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's election office at 575-8683. Voters are considered inactive if they did not vote in the November 2012 election

Voters will choose City Council members and decide on two ballot questions. Ballots are expected to be mailed on March 8
