"For several years we averaged over $500 million of construction on Ft. Carson each year, and that provided a large number of jobs," says Hal Alguire, Fort Carson's director of public works. Alguire points out that those jobs helped a lot of people after the economy took a hit in recent years.
Right now, the $700 million Combat Aviation Brigade is the focus of construction moving forward at Fort Carson, but after the CAB is finished Alguire says the construction pace could be slowing down.
