Too warm to ice dive

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office had to postpone this year's ice dive, generally held on January 1, because the ice just wasn't thick enough.

The dive has happened for years at Lake San Isabel, near Rye, but until it gets colder and the ice gets thicker, divers decided it just wasn't safe for spectators to stand on the ice and watch.

Outdoor enthusiasts should take this as a warning as well, not to venture out on frozen lakes in the area.
