Traffic reduced to one lane near Otero County fire

Traffic is being slowed on Highway 96 in Otero County because of a grass fire burning nearby.
Fire crews have halted the flames at Highway 96, but traffic is down to one lane from mile marker 118 to 119.
The fire was reported at Highway 96 at Road 31 and then spread north. The fire is estimated at 15 acres.
The fire department reports the spread of the fire to the north and east has been stopped.
