Six regional teams of first responders gathered at Greenville, South Carolina's Scott Towers demolition site Wednesday for a large-scale disaster training exercise.
The implosion of the 14-story apartment building drew a crowd of hundreds to the scene on Sunday morning.
"This is remarkable training that we're getting here today," said Lt. Tito Dendy, spokesman for the Greenville City Fire Department.
Dendy said the exercise began with an alarm call going out at 8 a.m. about an explosion that caused Scott Towers to collapse. As part of the exercise, vehicles that were brought to the site earlier were set on fire, as part of the explosion aftermath.
