Residents of Albuquerque, New Mexico's Northeast Heights neighborhood came face-to-face with a bear Sunday morning.
Jackie Vigeon first spotted the bear in one of the trees in her yard.
She called the Department of Game and Fish and they told her to try and keep the bear scared in the tree.
Her scare tactics worked until officials were able to arrive and shoot a tranquilizer dart at the bear, causing it to come crashing down to a somewhat cushioned fall.
"The bear is in great shape, female, looks like she had nursed previously but doesn't have any cubs right now which is a good thing," said an official with Game and Fish.
The Department says reports have been coming in all week about this particular female bear roaming around this area.
They're still trying to determine what to do with the bear.
Typically they will tag and release the bear back in the mountains.
