Viewer Jeff Sepulveda shared incredible video with News 5 of Friday's tornado in Trinidad. He says he was wrapping up his week at work when he noticed ominous clouds beginning to rotate.
"I hope this doesn't turn into anything," he remembers thinking. "I was certainly praying it wasn't, but it did."
When Sepulveda and his boss couldn't reach his boss's wife and son by phone, the pair raced toward his his boss's home, in the path of the tornado. He says his boss's son was caught in the middle of a field on a tractor, when the tornado approached.
"He hunkered down under that tractor and tried to protect himself from flying debris," he says. "He thankfully is okay. He didn't get swept up."
The son suffered only minor injuries from airborne debris. The tornado tore down trees, fences and power lines.
"It was just like you see in the movies," Sepulveda says. "Trees and debris flying around the funnel. It was just a surreal experience. I'd never seen anything like that."
Luckily, the house didn't suffer any damage. He plans to work through the weekend to clean up the mess left behind by the twister.
