COLORADO SPRINGS - Three Southern Colorado women were charged this week for felony pimping and human trafficking. Covie King, 55, and Myong Moon, 54, of Colorado Springs and Myong Bogdany, 61, of Pueblo were all arrested last Thursday by an undercover trooper with the Colorado State Patrol as part of a nine month sting operation run by the Metro Vice and Narcotics Unit.
According to court records, the women were "Mamasans" who ran Spas and Massage Parlors in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. They would reportedly pay a "broker" $200 to bring them prostitutes flown to the Denver International Airport and Colorado Springs Airport. That broker, 46-year-old Sona Blair, was arrested December 12 on a dozen felony charges of human trafficking, pimping, and money laundering.
Blair is being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on $250,000 bond. King and Moon were released from jail on $20,000 bond. Bogdany remains in custody on a similar $20,000 bond.
Business records filed with the Colorado Secretary of State show King owned a delinquent business named CK, LLC that used the trade name Magic Moments. However, signs posted the business address read Smile Massage Oriental Therapy.
Owners of neighboring businesses in the College Plaza shopping center on B Street told News 5 that the business used to go by the name "Magic Moments" two years ago.
The human trafficking victims reportedly ate, slept and lived in the massage parlors 24 hours a day and were made to pay $100 a week in "rent." When we stopped by Smile Massage, the business was open and an unidentified woman notified us that King and Moon were not there.
Blair, the alleged broker, is set to be arraigned on her charges in late April. Moon is scheduled to make a First Appearance on Monday. Meanwhile, King is due to make a First Appearance in two weeks.
