Man killed in triple shooting in Pueblo

A man is dead after a triple shooting in Pueblo and police have a possible suspect in custody. The shooting happened shortly after 9 p.m Thursday in a field near Outlook Blvd. and Buchanan Dr. on Pueblo's northside.

Officers say three men were shot inside a car--one of the victims was shot in the head. Police say the suspect fled the area and that's when one of the victim was able to go for help. "My understanding is that of the three people that were in the vehicle that were shot, one of them was able to come to a nearby home to summons help. The other two males were in the vehicle when police arrived," said Jim Billings, Pueblo Police Chief.

Chief Billings say one victim died from his injuries. No word yet on the conditions of the remaining two victims.

Shortly after the shooting police took a person into custody for questioning. News First 5 asked Chief Billings if that person is a suspect. "We're not sure at this point," said Billings. "We're early in the investigation, we're not sure if this is the right suspect or not."

Chief Billings say this investigation is still in the early stages, he says there could be more than one suspect. Police are also still trying to figure out the motive.
