State troopers have arrested a man they say was carrying over $300,000 dollars worth of marijuana in his car. They stopped the 2001 Cadillac CTS at about 10:00 p.m. on Thursday just west of Rock Ford. The driver who is from Northglenn was reportedly speeding and the vehicle's registration had expired.

When the trooper approached the car he noticed a strong odor of raw marijuana. The driver claimed that he was transporting medical marijuana but couldn't provide the paperwork to support his claim.

Inside was 40 lbs. of high grade marijuana and seeds along with some marijuana edibles. The drug was packed in trash bags, plastic bags and various sized jars.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Otero County Jail. His name has not yet been released.
