Truck crashes into creek in Fountain

A man was flown to the hospital earlier Wednesday afternoon after driving into a creek in Fountain.
It happened behind the Love gas station off Mesa Ridge Parkway.
A witness says they saw the truck driving in the field behind the station and then over the edge into the creek.
The Fountain fire chief says the man, believed to be between 50 and 60-years-old, didn't know his name, where he was, or how he got there.
"We went ahead and started a rescue we needed to get him out of the water and up here and we knew there was some kind of medical condition going on so once we got him to the shore then we went ahead, and to get him to the hospital faster we went ahead and flew him in," said Fountain Fire Chief Darin Anstine.
Chief Anstine says it took about 30 minutes to get him from the truck to the chopper.
And his injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
