Tuesday Weather: Some Snow, but Not Everywhere

A cold front dropping down from the north will bring snow into Colorado this afternoon and tonight. It begins up north around Fort Collins and Denver this afternoon, while areas from Colorado Springs south will wait until tonight.

Through the day, clouds will be thickest in the upslope breeze in northern and western El Paso County, including areas like Monument, Black Forest, Calhan, Falcon, and Manitou Springs. A few flurries are possible from those thicker clouds, and temperatures beneath those clouds will struggle to warm into the mid-to-upper 30's. Thinner clouds from Colorado Springs and even a break of sunshine down around Pueblo and out into the Plains will help warm temperatures in the mid-to-upper 40's.

The wind interaction with our terrain will make things a little tricky as to exactly where that snow will fall. Odds are, most areas of along the Arkansas River Valley will miss out aside from perhaps a flurry. Higher elevations of northern and western El Paso County, Teller County, and the Wet Mountains are the most favored for snow tonight. Even still most areas will not see any more than an inch or two of accumulation.
