Tuesday Weather: Still Some Thunder

We have another day of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, but the coverage of rain will ease back a bit as moisture in the atmosphere begins to decrease. That will also lead to a slight warm up from yesterday. With plenty of warmth in place, we once again run the risk for severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind and large hail this afternoon. The timing is very similar to yesterday, and we will remain dry through noon as temperatures warm through 60's and into the 70's. Around noon, some spots are already running into the lower 80's. As we approach 2 PM, showers begin developing in the high elevations to the west of I-25. Through 5 PM, with highs in the 70's and 80's, the showers and thunderstorms will move east of the mountains to the I-25 corridor and the Plains. Our StormCast model picks up really well on the decreased coverage of the showers and thunderstorms for today as compared to yesterday, but they are still around. Again, some of those stronger storms could produce damaging wind and large hail.

Moisture content of the atmosphere will continue decreasing and temperatures will step up tomorrow and even more on Thursday, when highs will be in the 80's and 90's. The summer-like warmth will ease slightly on Friday and then ease a little more on Saturday behind a weak cold front, but warming resumes on Sunday and Monday.
